This internship, in paternship with The Essential Medical Devices Foundation in Switzerland, aimed to provide a solution to solve the problems of phase imbalance, commonly faced by the hospitals in Cameroon.
The idea was to solve an optimization problem, so that to know the optimal configuration about connecting devices on an appropriated phase in a specific service in a specific moment.
This implemented algorithm is based on the prediction of the use of electrical equipments in a hospital.The optimization work, added to the interviews that were realised in some district hospitals on the rate of flow of patients, have shown the predictability of the use of electrical equipments in hospitals and consequently to provide automatically rebalancing of the phases in a hospital.
The results obtained by Mr. Sashidhar Jonnalagedda are interesting, so that he has been contacted by the Red Cross to prepare a project methodology. Ultimately, the results will be used to sustainably improve the quality of electric energy in the southern hospitals.
